Our Viticulturist, David Mills

David Mills has grown up in vineyards, he is third generation McLaren Vale and is a genuine expert in the field of viticulture. Experience has been gained in Langhorne Creek and McLaren Vale. David has been involved in the establishment of the vineyards from the very beginning.

His knowledge of the vineyard is paramount, with meticulous management and his tireless commitment provides the ultimate production of fruit of the highest standard. Constant management of soil moisture and disease control is practiced. Controlled watering is the preferred method of watering at Aramis Vineyards. David monitors disease on a day to day basis, whether it be spraying for protection against botrytis one day to checking for bugs the next. Disease control is paramount to the vineyards overall health.

The yield of the vineyard is determined mainly by the method and know how of pruning. The best way to prune a vineyard is by hand, Aramis will only do what is best for the vineyard. Up until there 3rd year the grapes were picked by hand, this is for the preservation of the vine. Once strong enough the grapes are picked with a harvester.
